Committee says ‘Thank You!’

The Our Kids Come First committee wants to thank USD 308 voters for a tremendous show of support for the community’s children. Across the community, voters approved the $78.8 million bond issue for improvements in USD 308 schools on Nov. 7.
The bond issue passed on a 58 to 42 percent margin. As a result, by the end of the current school year, construction will begin on projects that will provide quality facilities for Hutchinson students for the next several decades.
As a way of saying, “thank you,” and showing further support for the district, 700 fans at Friday’s Class 6A semifinal game at Gowans Stadium will receive a royal blue terrible towel.
Fans received golden terrible towels during the first-round football playoff game Nov. 3 at Gowans Stadium. Fans with the golden towels are asked to bring those to Friday’s game to show support for the Salthawks.
Friday’s game features the two-time defending state champion Hutchinson High School Salthawks against the Manhattan Indians.
Gates open for the game at 5:30 p.m. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
